DepthRender
Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 19, 2026
Summary
DepthRender is designed to process your dive data and videos on your device. We do not operate a server that receives your imported dive files, videos, editing settings, or comparison records. We do not use advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics services.
Information You Choose to Use in the App
When you use DepthRender, you may choose to provide or create the following information:
- Dive-log files, including FIT, UDDF, and XML files.
- Dive information contained in those files, such as timestamps, depth, duration, rate, and related dive-session data.
- Videos you select from your photo library or files.
- Editing and project information, such as video-to-dive alignment, overlay layout choices, color adjustments, comparison labels, discipline, free-fall depth, weight, and wetsuit thickness.
DepthRender processes this information locally on your device to provide its video overlay, comparison, automatic matching, and export features.
Local Storage
DepthRender stores app preferences and saved dive-comparison records locally on your device. This may include settings such as smoothing and automatic matching preferences, together with saved comparison metadata that you enter or edit.
Your original videos remain in your photo library or file storage. When you export a rendered video, DepthRender saves the new video to your photo library only after you choose to export and grant the required permission.
Photo Library Access
DepthRender may request access to your photo library in order to:
- Let you select a video for an overlay project.
- Save an exported video to your photo library.
- When Auto Match Video is enabled, compare locally available photo-library video dates, durations, and related metadata with imported dive times to suggest or select a matching video.
Auto Match Video is optional and can be turned off in the app's settings. DepthRender does not upload photo-library metadata, videos, or thumbnails to our servers.
Files and Sharing
You can import dive files through the Files interface or share supported dive files from another app to DepthRender. The file is used locally to import and process the dive information you selected.
If you choose to use the iOS share sheet to share an exported video or other content, that sharing is handled by the destination you select. The privacy practices of that destination apply to the shared content.
Purchases
DepthRender may offer in-app purchases. Purchases and purchase restoration are processed by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment card or other payment-account details.
Information We Do Not Collect
DepthRender does not collect, sell, rent, or share your personal information for advertising or marketing purposes. In particular, the app does not use:
- Advertising identifiers or targeted advertising.
- Third-party analytics or behavioral tracking services.
- A DepthRender account system or cloud backend for your imported dive files, videos, or saved comparison records.
Feedback and External Links
If you choose to send feedback by email, your email app and email provider will handle the message and any information you include. We will use that information only to respond to your feedback, provide support, or improve DepthRender.
DepthRender may provide links to external services, such as tutorial content or social-media pages. Those services are not controlled by us, and their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Your Choices and Control
You can control DepthRender's access to Photos in iOS Settings. You can disable Auto Match Video in the app's settings. You can also remove imported data or clear comparison data within the app where those controls are available.
Deleting DepthRender or its app data may remove locally stored app settings and saved comparison records. Deleting the app does not automatically delete original videos or exported videos that remain in your photo library. You can manage those items directly in Photos or Files.
Children
DepthRender is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when DepthRender changes or when legal requirements change. We will post the updated version with a revised effective date.
